15 year old internet scammer

In Shostka, law enforcement officers identified a 15-year-old teenager who bred people using online auctions. At first, the young man advertised the sale of non-existent leisure items, and when customers made a full prepayment on the specified account, he simply disappeared. Despite this, the attacker still managed to establish the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but the responsibility for his misdeeds will be borne by the parents.

In recent years, the Internet has firmly entered almost every home. There are probably few people left who have used the World Wide Web at least once. It is also used by criminals who, with the help of various sites for the sale of products, “receive” not only money, but also criminal liability. And, although identifying, and even more so proving the guilt of an Internet fraudster, is not at all an easy task, law enforcement officers still manage to fight such criminals.

One of these was a 15-year-old guy living in the city of Shostka, who “earned” 1,300 hryvnias with the help of a social network.
“While browsing the World Wide Web, we saw a suspicious ad,” says Yevgeny Stirkov, head of the cybercrime department. – The young guy offered various goods for recreation: tents, rubber boats, as well as mobile phones. The employees of the department were interested in the bad reviews about this user: in the comments, deceived customers wrote that they had transferred the money for the goods to the seller’s account, but did not receive the long-awaited “purchase”. Later, using the technical capabilities, the police found a suspect in Internet fraud.”

Law enforcement officers were surprised to learn that the “criminal” was 15-year-old Kolya (his name has been changed) from Shostka, who, like all guys of his age, spent hours on the Internet. As he explained, somehow his friend turned to him with help. A friend asked me to help him sell a used mobile phone. Together they placed an ad for the sale of a mobile phone on one of the online auctions, where they indicated a photo of the product, the price and the bank account where you need to transfer money to get what you want.

“The mobile phone was old, and in order to attract buyers, they took a photo of another phone,” Kolya said. “It was then that the idea arose of how to get rich quick without selling anything real.”

Law enforcement officers also established that two years ago, Kolya’s mother issued a Junior bank card in his name. It was her that he used for his own enrichment. Today the police officers setThey know how long such a fruitful “work” lasted, however, it is known that he posted an ad on the same site where he sold a friend’s phone, only later the teenager decided to register under someone else’s login. Information about the goods was added, namely, the cheap price, which would-be customers immediately paid attention to. The guy again “took” the corresponding photos from the Internet. The buyers did not hesitate and, not suspecting anything, counted the money to the indicated account. And the result was the same – no money, no goods …

So, he “earned” one thousand three hundred hryvnia. As he explained: “I could not resist the temptation of easy money” …
Today, a further check is being carried out on the teenager and the number of victims of his criminal acts is being established. The actions of a minor in the Criminal Code of Ukraine are qualified as “Fraud”, and if his guilt is proven, the parents of the young man will be responsible for the committed act.

Law enforcement officers are repeatedly advised not to be subjected to adventure by buyers from Internet sites, but to deal only with trusted partners. Parents of their children are advised to be more interested in what exactly their children are doing, because such actions of childhood may not leave their mark on the future in the best way …
